About QIMR Berghofer:

QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of cancer, infectious diseases, mental health and chronic disorders. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and support staff.

About the Lab:
Cardiac Bioengineering is focussed on developing state-of-the art bioengineering approaches for human 3D organoids. It ultimately aims to use these organoids for discovery of new therapeutics for human disease.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities:

Completing a number of lab tasks, such as:

  • Cell culture
  • Stem cell culture
  • Differentiation
  • Organoid fabrication
  • Functional assays
  • Molecular biology
  • General lab tasks
  • Record and data keeping
  • Reporting on progress
  • Presentation of findings (at group meetings and other)
  • Ensure work pactices comply with Institute policies

About you:

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate that you are interested and capble of working in tissue culture, cardiac biology and with cardiac organiods. We have many exciting projects and a successful applicant will help facilitate progress of multiple projects.

Remuneration: Salary range is $65,380 to $88,522 p.a. plus super and salary packaging. This is a full-time appointment until the end of 2022.
