About QIMR Berghofer:

QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of cancer, infectious diseases, mental health and chronic disorders. About the Research Office:

The Research Office works with researchers to ensure compliance with ethical standards and legislative requirements. The Research Office is the interface between Ethics Committees, researchers and regulatory bodies.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide secretarial support, administration and coordination to the QIMR Ethics Committees and its scientific subcommittees, including preparation/compilation of agenda, attendance at meetings, recording and preparation of minutes, and follow up of matters arising. You will also assist the committee Chairpersons in communicating committee decisions to researchers and to staff of other organisations and regulatory bodies.

About you:

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills,experience in providing high level secretariat support to committees including preparing briefings, reports and submissions for consideration by committees. You will possess efficient organizational skills and effectively deal with conflicting priorities demands and deadlines. You will also have skills to work effectively in a team and liaise with senior officers and research staff, and staff of external organisations.

Remuneration: Salary range is $78,253 to $86,174 p.a. plus superannuation and salary packaging. This is a full-time appointment, which is a parental leave cover (for 14 months).
