About Your Lab: The Translational Oncology Discovery Group is particularly interested in accelerating scientific and clinical progress in spatial analysis of cancer tissue.

The Translational Cancer Immunotherapy Laboratory studies the interaction between the immune response and tumour control, with a particular emphasis on translating our ever-expanding basic science knowledge into clinically applicable therapeutic platforms.

Role Purpose / Responsibilities: 

We are seeking an experienced Research Officer to provide sophisticated computational methods to integrate various forms of spatial omics and bulk RNAseq data obtained from translational cancer samples. Critically, this role will require dynamic and timely communication of data analysis to internal and external research and clinical stakeholders to facilitate rapid data interpretation and iterative experimental or analytical adjustments to improve data impact.

The following duties will apply:

  • Perform spatial image analysis using tools, including Fiju, Imaris, QuPath
  • Perform spatial transcriptomic data analysis using tools, including Seurat, Scanpy, Squidpy, LisaCLust, stLearn, SCDNEY, GPTcelltype, SingleR, scPred, InSituType
  • Analysis of sequencing data, including bulk RNAseq, single-cell RNAseq, including gene expression analysis and pathway analysis, and sourcing and integration of publicly available sequencing data
  • Custom development of computational pipelines for spatial analysis

About you:

The ideal candidate will have first-hand experience with single-cell spatial transcriptomic and bulk RNA sequencing data and be proficient in spatial image analysis and data visualization tools. You will have very strong coding skills (R, BASH and Python), demonstrated experience with high-performance computing environments and proven expertise in the spatial-temporal analysis of clonal dynamics and tissue pathology/biomarker analysis.

Remuneration: Salary range is $ 96,100 to $103,108 plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for one year.
